Planting Hope: Our Annual Environment Conservation Drive
This year's annual tree plantation drive was our biggest yet. With participation from over 200 volunteers, community members, and local school children, we planted 500+ native saplings across three locations in rural Maharashtra.
The drive wasn't just about planting trees — it was about planting awareness. Each planting site was accompanied by educational sessions on the importance of native species, soil health, and the role of forests in water conservation.
Three years into our environmental conservation efforts, we're beginning to see the results. The saplings planted during our first drive in 2022 have grown into young trees, bringing shade, habitat for birds, and a sense of pride to the communities that nurture them.
Our approach to conservation is rooted in community ownership. We partner with local Gram Panchayats, assign tree guardians from the community, and conduct regular monitoring visits. This ensures that our plantations have survival rates above 80% — significantly higher than many government programs.
The environmental challenges facing rural India — deforestation, soil erosion, water scarcity — are deeply interconnected. Our conservation programs address these challenges holistically, combining tree plantation with soil health workshops, water harvesting education, and sustainable agriculture training.
